The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3369, Sparks Nevada is organizing a campaign to raise funds to support veterans’ organizations. An important fundraising event is our golf tournament on September 15, 2023 at Red Hawk Golf and Resort. We are asking that your business support this effort by becoming a sponsor. Veteran of Foreign Wars Silver State Post 3396 and its Auxiliary supports our Service Members, Veterans, their Families, and our community with various programs. Serving our community since 1941, we were funded by World War 1 Veterans. The Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States is the Nation’s oldest major veterans’ organization, The VFW has an impeccable and longstanding record of stewardship. VFW Post 3396 has more than 200 patriotic Americans, both members and non-members, who dedicate thousands of volunteer hours for our community.
Proceeds of the Golf Tournament will support,
- Our local VFW Post 3396 Service Officer Program,
- Jerry Lazzari VA Nursing Student Scholarship awards, Five (5) $1,000.00 VA Nursing Students.
- We also, support sending Veterans on Honor Flight Nevada trips
- Supporting the Nevada Veterans Memorial and Gold Star Family Memorials in Sparks Nevada.
- At the local level we are continually inspiring patriotism in our young people with awarding scholarships in our Voice of Democracy, Patriot Pen essay, Scout of the Year and Teacher of the year programs.
- Our Adopted Nevada National Guard units and are currently getting ready for Holiday parties and deployment ceremonies.
- We offer a vast network of free resources and a variety of direct support for military members and their families.
- We participate in a wide range of assistance programs aimed at helping service members and veterans of every generation.
- Our mobile Shuttle van and Food Pantry
- The mental well-being of our service members and veterans is of the utmost importance to our VFW and local Posts. To raise awareness, foster community engagement and provide intervention for those affected by invisible injuries and emotional stress, we teamed up with “Give an Hour” and the “Campaign to Change Direction.” To change our culture, we teach a common language, “The Five Signs of Emotional Suffering.” This vital initiative allows us to positively impact a great number of veterans and help to change the narrative of mental wellness.
